Greetings from Cummins Ferry Resort Campground & Marina in Salvisa, KY!
Where is Salvisa you ask? I had never heard of it either, and I'm from KY! I discovered this place while searching for a campground near Danville, where my son was living at the time. I thought I had pretty much stayed at all the campgrounds in that area, but somehow missed this one.
The star attraction!
Cummins Ferry Resort Campground http://www.cumminsferry.com located on the Kentucky River. Once you turn off U.S. RT. 68, it is in the middle of nowhere at the end of a road at the bottom of a hill. What a find! The first thing you see and hear is the beautiful double stream waterfall cascading into the river from the sheer rock facing or palisades, as they are called.
Campground entrance
The marina part is simply a covered boat dock where boaters passing by can stop and take in the falls; as they are located directly across from the dock. There is a camp store in the office where campers and boaters can purchase supplies.
