Super Bowl & Kansas City; Power Bank, Food Preservation, COVID & More!

Hello Friends!

Super Bowl LV

Well, Super Bowl LV is in the books! Did it go your way? I was rooting for the Chiefs, but the Brady bomb struck again! Y’all know my team is the Pittsburg Steelers; have been a fan since the 70’s, but I have always liked the Chiefs–even when they weren’t any good. I figured sure it would be close–all I can say is WOW!  As for the half-time show…WTH was that?

What kind of half-time show was that?

Kansas City Ties

I have some very special ties to Kansas City.  The love of my life, who was also raised in KY, not far from me, lived there for several years.  He used to joke that a high school team could beat the Chiefs. LOL, that’s how bad they were back then. What he would think if he knew they won the Super Bowl last year, and was in it again this year!  My cousin Marcus, who is gone now too, lived in the Kansas City area for years. I’ve been to KC and surrounding area several times.

‘I Wish I Could’ve Known You, Jesse James’

Y’all know how I love the West; especially Old West history.  America’s best known outlaw, Jesse James, was born in Kearney, about 25 miles from Kansas City, and was killed in St. Joseph, about an hour north. Both are must sees if you’re into Old West stuff. I wrote a poem years ago, titled ‘I Wish I Could’ve Known You Jesse James.’ It will be in a volume of poetry I hope to get published at some point, hopefully this year.

The City of Fountains

Not only is Kansas City home to a now winning NFL team, but it is also known as ‘The City of Fountains,’ highlighting over 200 water features throughout the metro area.  The fountains actually originated out of necessity in the 1890’s as drinking bins and troughs for the many horses traveling about the city then.  In later years, more and more were constructed as city planning and development efforts. Today, they are a beautiful tourism draw.

Fountains everywhere!

Visit Kansas City!

The city is also known for it’s barbeque, and of course, KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce.  Throw in  museums, art, jazz, great restaurants, breweries/distilleries, history, and of course more sports– with a MLB team, and…this year NASCAR returns to the Kansas City Speedway in May & October!  There’s lots of fun things for kids also, such as Lego Land, Worlds of Fun Amusement Park, and The Kansas City Zoo.

Located right on the border of Kansas and Missouri, there is a Kansas City for both states. Even though the two cities are separate, they are considered one metropolitan area. Kansas City, MO however, can lay claim to being the original city; as it was established in 1853, eight years before Kansas even became a state.  Another cool feature is that KC is situated almost exactly in the center of the US; making it an excellent base camp!  You can easily drive from there to several states in all directions. With everything it has to offer, Kansas City is a great place to visit. Check it out! http://www.visitkc.com

Super Power Bank!

I just ordered what I think is going to be an incredible product!  I have been researching power banks for some time now–comparing capabilities and reading reviews from YouTubers I follow. I found this one from a different source, and if it does what the company says it will…OMG, it will be a game changer! I can’t wait to try it, do a review, and share with y’all. This is actually considered a generator because it has so much power–and it’s portable! A power bank is not just for campers.  They are great for outdoor parties, picnics, tailgating, off grid living, and not to mention when the power goes off! So stay tuned for more information on that.

This bell pepper is 34 days old!

Amazing Food Preservation Product!

Speaking of off-grid living, another video coming up on the YouTube channel, pertains to food preservation. I have been using it for a long time. It’s a tried and true product. Don’t ya love it when something really works?! This item extends the life of your vegetables, fruit, cheese, bread, or anything else! You’re gonna love it!

Attention Girlie Girls, Glampers & Divas!

I’m not a plain Jane but I’m not a painted up gal either.(Even though this video makes me look like the Joker! I just had a dab of lip gloss on!) https://youtu.be/aMZ7DLAqxY4 I guess you’d say I’m a middle of the road, natural look gal when it comes to hair, make-up, fashion, etc.

This made me look like the Joker!

I do have my own original style, it just may not be ‘in style.’  However, for you glampers, girlie girls, and divas out there–I’m doing a video soon with ‘guest stars’ who will be sharing their tips on these subjects. It’s gonna be fun and I think you will enjoy it.

Camper Tour Coming Soon…

My vintage camper may be considered by some as a ‘glamper,’ even though everything in it is fully functional and serves a purpose–so what if some of those purposes may simply be to bring me joy.  I myself am not a glamper because I love all modes of camping. I don’t need the luxuries that some do, but you camp YOUR way. Do what makes YOU happy.

‘Little Ett’

Speaking of my camper, ‘Little Ett’ is nearly finished on the inside.  I’m just putting on the final touches to complete my western hippie, gypsy cowgirl theme,  The outside is a whole other matter.  I plan to paint it this year so that the exterior gives a little hint to the interior, but I haven’t got that figured out yet.  Any suggestions?

COVID Hits Close To Home

Well, COVID has struck close to home; as a very dear friend of mine is recovering from it now. She is a nurse in an assisted living facility where several patients had it.  The worst part was she also contracted pneumonia.  It was a very scary situation and she is still not out of the woods. She is being transferred to a rehabilitation center where she will have to be on oxygen for some time; probably even when she goes home.  We grew up together; she is my very first friend and helped me find my bus when I started school. I consider her my sister. Please pray for her and let’s continue to pray for all COVID patients and their families; especially those who have lost loved ones to this dreadful disease.

Until next time, remember…DON’T WAIT TO LIVE!

See ya down the road,

Catrina
