Blue Ridge Mountains, Rainy Van Days, Outdoor Show & Staying In A Castle!

Hello Friends!

I just got back from a quick Easter weekend trip; visiting my kiddos.  The rain was intense on the way there, but absolutely beautiful coming back. I took a break to enjoy the scenery and linger in those Blue Ridge Mountains as long as I could.

Love those Blue Ridge Mountains!

Not a bad spot to take a break!

Is it just me or is this time thing out of control?? How can we already be through the first quarter of 2023?? Don’t get me wrong, I am totally ready for Spring, but wish there were more hours in a day I guess; never seems to be enough time.

Pushing Through

So, I pushed through the adversities of January, February & March…from frozen water pipes, three weeks without hot water, sliding glass door falling apart, computer scam scare, car trouble, and the latest…the day the new patio door was to be installed, they show up with a door that was two inches too short AND the wrong color!!!

I was not a happy camper! Turns out, the guys who came out to measure for it, measured wrong!  Why would someone be in the contracting/construction business if they can’t measure correctly?!  It has been re-ordered and due to arrive at Lowes on April 21st.  Hopefully it will get done this time.

Playing music is a great pass time in the minivan, not just at home

Bad Weather Van Days

You’re at your campsite when the weather turns cold and rainy….what do you do to pass the time in your van or RV? Recently, I found myself in the van looking outside at sleet and rain. Personally, I love it. There’s just something about being in a small space that feels cozy to me. I use that time to read, nap, write, cook, plan trips, daydream, and if I have an instrument with me; play music! I also carry a few nostalgic games on board.  See video here: https://youtu.be/jQ0vSBCFFgM

Queen For a Day!

Campers can splurge y’all! I was queen for a day…and a half actually, when I parked the “Mini-Ett” and stayed overnight at The Kentucky Castle in Versailles, KY.  This was part of my birthday celebration which I extended all month LOL!

Parked the van and stayed overnight here!

What an awesome experience! Right in the heart of bluegrass horse country, this place is beautiful. Located not far from Lexington, there are tons of things to do in the area, from Keeneland Horse Racing, Kentucky Horse Park & Campground, shopping, and historical attractions, to great restaurants, camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. Awesome outdoor show!

Preparedness/Outdoor Show

I attended an awesome outdoor show which focused on preparedness.  Wow, so many vendors! Information, demonstrations, classes and products regarding survival, food preservation, military surplus, off grid living, camping, outdoor gear, homesteading, solar and more!  I purchased an amazing product which I’ll be sharing with you soon. You’re gonna love it!
